Jackie & Jon – Flag Hill Winery Wedding
Jackie & Jon hired me to photograph their wedding after I had photographed Jon’s sister’s wedding the year before.
I knew I was going to enjoy working with them from our first email exchange. They asked me I’d be willing to do something a little different for their engagement photos, and, intrigued, I quickly agreed. They wanted to do photos of themselves with different dogs that were currently available for adoption at a shelter Jackie worked with in high school. That way when they sent their guests the “Save-the-Date’s”, they could also check out all of the adoptable animals. Being the animal lover that I am, I was HOOKED! I was so thrilled at the idea (I mean, come on, how cool is that?!), that I didn’t even mind driving the two hours it took to get to the shelter. The photos came out adorable and all of the dogs were so fun to take for walks and play with!!
Jackie & Jon got married at one of my favorite venues—Flag Hill Winery in Lee, New Hampshire. I love Flag Hill for it’s picturesque location and all of the different location to get amazing photos, but also because the venue coordinator, Christa (and the rest of her staff), are seriously rockstars!!
We set up their first look in the vineyard and although the rows are rather narrow, my second shooter and I had fun pretending to be ninjas—we planted ourselves in the row next to them and were totally sneaky while shooting through the vines.
Family and wedding party photos were a blast with this group—and they even surprised me by all pulling out sunglasses, which was fantastic!
Jackie and Jon were naturals in front of the camera (even though they insisted multiple times that they were not) and it was fun walking around Flag Hill and capturing their love!
The ceremony was on site and was just as perfect as everything else was shaping up to be. And we even had Jackie and Jon stop at the end of the aisle afterwards for a group photo of them with all of their guests, which worked out perfectly! (again, thank you to Christa for the amazing organizational skills)!
During cocktail hour we did a few more photos of Jackie and Jon, since they were officially married now, and then captured them saying hello and greeting all of their guests.
The Reception tent is on the hill overlooking the vineyard and was gorgeously decorated for the day! Jackie and Jon were introduced and went right into their first dance, followed by parent dances.
And then it was time to party the night away! Congratulations again, Jackie & Jon! I’m so happy I was there to capture your day!!
