Regan & Pete – Mount Washington Resort Wedding in the White Mountains of NH
About Mount Washington Resort:
With scenic mountain vistas across New England’s highest peaks, the Mount Washington Resort boasts some of the best views in New Hampshire. This historic Inn has a grand ballroom and plenty of spots outside for a variety of photo opportunities.
About the Couple:
When asked about the vibe they were going for for their day and wedding photography, Regan & Pete said
When they thought about looking back on their wedding photos, they were most excited about photos of their guests mingling and having a good time throughout the night.
During the ceremony we would prefer if the photography occurred from afar (if possible) – maybe behind the guests or to the side in a non-distracting way. We hope that our ceremony is very spiritually focused and would appreciate the cameras not being in close proximity to where Pete and I will be standing with the preacher.
We can discuss this further in detail as we of course appreciate the hard work of the photographers so we ask this in the most respectful way :-).
About the Day:
Because Regan & Pete didn’t do a first look, all of their photos together had to be done after the ceremony–but they still wanted to make it to cocktail hour. We made it work!
We were able to get some amazing photos of just the two of them during cocktail hour, and then once the reception started, we pulled them back outside for a quick 10 min golden hour/sunset session.
For couples whose main focus isn’t photos of the two of them, splitting the couple photos up into two smaller, quicker sessions makes it feel less overwhelming. That way, we can still get great photos without it feeling like you are away from your guests for huge blocks of time!
My favorite photos from Regan & Pete’s wedding are definitely the sunset photos. We were out back getting some golden hour photos of Mount Washington behind the couple.
I made sure to keep my eyes on the sky behind us just in case the sunset was going to be a good one. Sure enough the whole sky lit up! We quickly ran to the front of the resort and had about 3 minutes to capture the sky just absolutely on fire! It was stunning.
